In the F1 glass accordion folding door system, the panels are interconnected with hinges and suspended from a guide mounted on the ceiling, ensuring easy, smooth, and quiet operation. There is no additional floor guide, and locking is achieved with floor bolts or locks. Each panel features aluminum profiles at the top and bottom, which secure the glass – 10mm safety glass without holes or cutouts – using a patented glass support method from Salinox No. 1004694. Sealing of the glass accordion is achieved with transparent polycarbonate or aluminum profiles between the glass panels and an aluminum profile with a brush between the edge glass and the wall. The glass retention profiles (rails) feature brushes at the top and bottom, effectively covering gaps and ensuring a completely watertight result.
Depending on the desired dimensions, the size of the aluminum guide is selected, either 60×53(mm) or 75×72(mm) – the available options based on the section dimensions. With the small guide, door sizes reach up to 90cm in width and 240cm in height (with a maximum leaf weight of 70kg). With the large guide, sizes reach up to 100cm in width and 300cm in height (with a maximum leaf weight of 80kg). Finally, the F1 glass accordion folding door can be constructed with two to ten panels per building opening.
The F1 folding doors system is an excellent choice for relatively small spans where a parking trail option is not desirable, such as store windows, external shop areas (for example in cafeterias) or patio entrances. In addition, its elegant design makes it ideal for indoor usage, especially in cases where spaces may need to be isolated and used separately in a safe and easy way, such as office dividers.
- No need for parking area: Under certain circumstances – especially indoor spaces – the use of a parking trail is not aesthetically desirable.
- Design flexibility: Several system design options, including panel hanging position: either centered on the aluminum guide, or on one side of the guide or on a specified distance. Panels can be gathered to either side, or half to the left and half to the right, with or without an opening door.
- Minimal aesthetics: Elegant, contemporary design. Glass is held together with upper and lower aluminum clamps, thus maximizing the glass surface by avoiding the use of aluminum frames.
- Easy operation: “Accordion” type: by pulling out the first pane, the rest follow. Smooth and easy sliding thanks to the top track rail and hinges.
